Brief Description
Large diary; brown fabric cover, gold embossed lettering on front cover "INVICTA / AUSTRALIAN / DIARY No. 2 A / 1928"; embossed outline of Australia with "AUSTRALIA" in centre, in lower right corner of front cover; blue marbled end papers. Kept by Thomas Henry (Harry) Morris in 1928. Used solely to chronicle the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games; first entry is a list of the Australian Olympic Team and support staff, and travel itinerary from Australia to England. Diary entries begin 8 March 1928 at the first day of sailing, and end on 15 October 1928 with arrival back in Melbourne. Also includes itemised accounts of photographic expenses, and other purchases made throughout trip. Loose card advertising Royal Mail Line Holiday Cruises, used as blotter paper - inserted at 1, 2 August entries.
