Inscription (typed) onto separate sheet on verso: "GOP-2966) Rome, Sept 10: Russian gymnast Shaklin in action on the / pommelled horse during the Men's Gymastics {sic} Final this / afternoon at Terme di Caracalla. He won first place / and the Olympic gold medal for the event along with / Finland's Ekman. // Olympic Pool Picture".
