Brief Description
A guide book for tourists travelling to the 1956 Olympic Games. Book features a general overview of the Australian culture, climate, geography, economy, etc..., with brief information about New Zealand, New Guinea, and Fiji. The rest of the guide focuses on Melbourne and it's environs, with special attention to Olympic venues, accommodation, the Games programme, and transport & tourism. The front cover, designed by Richard Beck, who also designed the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games official poster, is entitled: 'Australia/and the/Olympic Games/GUIDE'.
