Brief Description
A 16-page (cover inclusive) booklet. Front cover features an illustration of: a male runner silhouetted with diagonal stripes comprising the 5 Olympic colours, in the centre; the Olympic Rings emblem at the upper left; and, a map of Australia marking the location of Melbourne, at the lower left. Title: 'XVITH OLYMPIAD/MELBOURNE/AUSTRALIA/22 NOV. - 8 DEC./1956'. It is primarily a guide for tourists visiting Melbourne during the Games, who wish to extend their tour by visiting other places in Australia. A list of all the major Australian cities and towns, with brief information on each, features within.
