Brief Description
A 32-page (cover exclusive) programme. Green cover features the Olympic Rings emblem and a colour photo image of Melbourne, on the front, and, a black and white photo image of the obverse of the 1956 Olympics commemorative medal, on the back. Text on front: 'OLYMPIC GAMES/MELBOURNE 1956/OPENING/CEREMONY/MAIN STADIUM (MELBOURNE CRICKET GROUND)/THURSDAY NOVEMBER 22ND 1956 AT 3.00 P.M./OFFICIAL SOUVENIR PROGRAMME/TWO SHILLINGS'. The first five pages of the programme feature the autographs of many Olympic athletes present at the Opening Ceremony.
