Brief Description
Photograph of Charles Kingsford-Smith (aviator) dressed as Santa Claus standing in the cockpit of a plane and holding a 3LO radio microphone. The image is related to a 3LO air-to-ground communication link in 1929. A handwritten inscription on the reverse reads '3LO/ 1929/WHS'. The photo appears to have been given to Hubert Opperman by his friend, Bill Sweeting, manager of a radio station in Hobart.
