Brief Description
Commemorative medal from 1972 Munich Olympics. A silver-like medal featuring, on the obverse, a stylised Olympic cauldron aflame - the flames and smoke defined by six vertical wavy lines. Amongst the flames is the Olympic Rings emblem. To the left of the design is the inscription: MUNCHEN/1972/HAUS/REMSCHEID. On the reverse is the coat-of-arms of the city of Remscheid, located in central North Rhine-Westphalia, in Western Germany. Medal is kept in a black vinyl case, with blue velveteen interior.
