Brief Description
Envelope, unused, that recognises the 1971 Postal Strike in Britain. Printed text reads, "ATTLEBOROUGH'S 1st / EVER POSTAGE STAMP / FIRST DAY ISSUE / 8th February, 1971 / Postal Strike / 20th January, 1971". Three postage stamps at right in red, green and blue all bear the same image of a cricket bat across standing wickets, and are valued at 10p, 5p and 2½p respectively. Three postmarks are stamped at Attleborough, Norfolk, England. Fourth postmark at left features a dial with numbers printed around the border and bears the date.
