Brief Description
Robert Ingpen watercolour image of Australian Rules footballer, Dick Reynolds (1915-2002). The artist's original image number - 70 - and names of the subject and club are handwritten below the design, with the pencilled years '1933-51'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Reynolds played 320 games and kicked 442 goals for the Essendon Football Club. He won seven club Best & Fairest awards and three Brownlow Medals (1934,1937, 1938), and represented Victoria 19 times. Reynolds coached Essendon for 22 seasons, winning four premierships.
