Brief Description
Original Robert Ingpen watercolour depicting Australian opening batsman, Arthur Morris (1922-2015). The artist's image number - 87 - and subject's name and team are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 45 Tests (1946-55), Morris scored 3533 runs at an average of 46.48 - including 12 centuries and 12 half-centuries. In 2001, Arthur Morris has been inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
