Brief Description
Original Robert Ingpen watercolour depicting Victorian State and Australian Test bowler, left-arm wrist-spinner, Leslie 'Chuck' Fleetwood-Smith (1908-1971). The artist's image number - 67 - and subject's name and country are handwritten below the design, with a pencilled year '1935'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 10 Tests (1935-38), Fleetwood-Smith took 42 wickets at an average of 37.38. In 1935/36 against England, he took 5/124 at the MCG, and 4/129 and 6/110 in Adelaide. By the end of his 1st class career, he had taken 597 wickets at 22.64 - including 184 wickets at the MCG.
