Brief Description
Original Robert Ingpen watercolour featuring of an image of Australian opening batsman, Bill Woodfull (1897-1965). The artist's image number - 58 - and subject's name and country, are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 35 Tests, Woodfull made 2300 runs - including 7 centuries and 13 half-centuries - at an average of 46.00. Woodfull was the Australian captain during the 'Bodyline series' in 1932/33. In 2001, Woodfull was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
