Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian runner, John Landy. The artist's original image number - 96 - and subject's name and country, are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 1954, Landy became the second man to break the 4-minute Mile; he broke the mile and 1500m world records in the same year; and, won the 1500m bronze medal at the MCG in the 1956 Olympic Games.
