Brief Description
A tin umpire's whistle, with wooden pea, featuring stamped lettering that appears to read, "THE THUNDERER / PATENT". This whistle was used by Victorian Football League umpire Jack Elder between 1908 and 1922. Elder umpired every finals game between 1909 and 1913. When he retired he had umpired a total of 39 finals and 10 Grand Finals.
