Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian all-rounder, Doug Walters. The artist's original image number - 121 - and name of the subject and country are handwritten below the design, with the pencilled season '1965/66'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 74 Tests (1965/66 -1980/81), Walters scored 5,357 runs at an average of 48.26 (including 15 centuries) and captured 49 wickets at 29.05.
