Object Detail
Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian Rules footballer, Essendon centreman, Jack Clarke (1933-2001). The artist's original image number - 112 - and names of the subject and club are handwritten below the design, with the pencilled year - '58. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Clarke played 263 games for Essendon, and won the club's Best & Fairest award twice, between 1951 and 1967. He represented Victoria 27 times, six as captain.
