Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian fast bowler, Mervyn Gregory 'Merv' Hughes. The artist's original image number (157) and subject's name and country are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In 53 Tests between 1985/86 and 1993/94, Hughes took 212 wickets at an average of 28.38, and made 1,032 runs.
