Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian batsman, Dean Jones. The artist's original image number (153) and subject's name and country are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Jones, a Melbourne Cricket Club player, made 3631 runs for Australia - including 11 centuries - at an average of 46.55 during 52 Tests.
