Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Indian batsman, Sunil Gavaskar. The artist's original image number - 138 - and subject's name are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Gavaskar made 10,122 runs - including 34 centuries - at an average of 51.12 during 125 Tests.
