Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian Test bowler (and Australian Rules footballer), Max Walker. The artist's original image number - 137 - and subject's name are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Walker took 138 wickets at an average of 27.47 during his 34 Tests between 1972/3 and 1977. Walker also played 85 games for the the Melbourne Football Club between 1967 and 1972.
