Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian Test batsman, David Boon. The artist's original image number - 165 - and subject's name are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with the grid references for the layout of the tapestry, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Boon scored 7,422 runs - including 21 hundreds - during 197 Tests at an average of 43.65.
