Brief Description
Coloured print with wide border. Caption box title at lower left reads, "INSTRUCTIONS TO UMPIRES. / 47-48. An umpire should not / allow himself to be unduly / influenced by appeals. / If he be in any doubt, LAW / 43, 'That the existing state / of things shall continue,' / shall be followed". It features a cricket game in progress, two batswomen sweet-talking the two umpires, who have not noticed that in the background the stumps have been broken. It has a facsimile signature by Chas Crombie at lower centre.
