Brief Description
Card mount containing photographs and a scorecard from a fixture between Marylebone Cricket Club and Melbourne Cricket Club, played at Lord's Ground on 23 June 1993. In the top-left is a formal team portrait showing fourteen men, all but one wearing cricket whites, arranged into two rows in front of the flint wall at the north of Lord's. Their names are hand-written below. At the top-right is a completed scorecard from the match (which Marylebone won), signed by several players, and below that, another photograph of the Melbourne CC team, standing on the Lord's balcony holding cans of beer. To the bottom-right are hand-drawn crests of the two clubs. The item is titled "Marylebone Cricket Club v Melbourne Cricket Club / Inaugural Match / at Lord's Ground / Wednesday, 23rd June, 1993". On the reverse of the mount is written "Frame 31".
