Object Detail

Brief Description
Architect's drawing (impression) of the (then) proposed Member's Stand of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, built in 1927. The viewpoint is from ground level and shows the buildings facade, which is modernist in style and consists of three bays including two protruding towers, with the entrance in the centre, below a sign that reads "TURNSTILES". In the foreground are figures and cars. Drawn in pencil, ink and charcoal on light-brown paper. It is signed in the lower-left corner, "STEPHENSON & MELDRUM / ARCHITECTS". Verso handwritten "M258" which has been crossed out - this was the original registration number.
