Brief Description
Ten Pound sterling bank note no. E 57 336951 issued by the Bank of England for the amount of ten pounds. Colour image printed on front left side features a cricket match being play whilst a portrait of Charles Dickens is on the right side. The cricket match has printed text below that reads 'THE CRICKET MATCH DINGLEY DELL AGAINST ALL MUGGLETON / FROM THE PICKWICK PAPERS 1836'. Printed on reverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the Bank of England's emblem.

Refer to M8542. The image on this is a mirror of the original etching from the book. Also note, Dickens hated it, so the artist was fired and Dickens insisted this image be removed from all future publications. It is rare to find a Pickwick Papers publication with this image, as it must come from 1837.
