Brief Description
First day cover released in Barbados to celebrate the 25th anniversary of independence, and also to mark the first test match between South Africa and the West Indies in April 1992. On the right half of the envelope is a colour image of a cricket match, with an inset stamp valued at $2.50, showing the cricketers Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes. On the left side are printed the crests of the South African cricket board and the West Indies, above which is the slogan "WELCOME BACK SOUTH AFRICA", relating to the country's return to international cricket following the end of apartheid.
