Brief Description
Typed letter in grey (typewriter ribbon) ink on white paper, dated in December, 1861. Under the heading "METROPOLITAN CRICKET GROUND" are notes from three different people. The top note (by G. HODGKINSON) includes that the Board of Land and Works has recommended the Melbourne Cricket Ground--containing nine acres, one rood and thirty seven perches--be permanently reserved as a metropolitan cricket ground; the middle (by L.G. DUFFY) is passing the note onto "His Excellency, the Governor in Council" for approval; and the third is said Governor (I.H. KAY) giving his approval.
