Brief Description
Soft ground hand coloured etching, full-length portrait of Charles George Taylor in cricket uniform, consisting of white pants, shirt, vest, and top hat, with a blue neckerchief and black shoes. He is depicted with his left hand on his hip and his right hand holding a cricket bat, and is standing on the Lord's Cricket Ground with wicket, fence, and shelter in the background. This print is from John Corbet Anderson's noted series of portraits of celebrated English cricketers titled "Sketches at Lord's Ground", which was dedicated to the members of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Handwritten in pencil verso "C.G. Taylor Esq".
