Brief Description
Soft ground hand coloured etching, full-length portrait of Thomas Box in cricket uniform, consisting of white pants, shirt, vest, and top hat, with black bow-tie and shoes. He is depicted applauding, and is standing on the Lord's Cricket Ground with fence, house, and trees in the background. This print is from John Corbet Anderson's noted series of portraits of celebrated English cricketers titled "Sketches at Lord's Ground", which was dedicated to the members of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Handwritten in pencil verso "Thomas Box".
