Brief Description
Black and white photograph featuring five people playing cricket in an open field. The image was taken in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, where RAAF forces where stationed during World War II. A barefoot New Guinean dressed in dark top and sarong takes strike at the wicket. The wicket consists of an open drum. Four men dressed in various articles of military uniform are fielding behind the batter. A long building and two small outbuildings are in the background nestled at the base of low hills. This photograph appears to be a modern print, taken from a 1942 negative.
