Brief Description
Two page letter hand written in black ink on white paper. Displayed in white textured window mount. The Gloucestershire County Cricket Club crest, printed in red ink, is featured on the upper edge of first page. Letter contains inquiry by W G Grace, seeking details on a portrait of himself, commissioned by Marylebone Cricket Club, to be painted by Archibald J Stuart Wortley. The painting, an oil on canvas, was completed in 1890. Ref: Rice, T., Treasures of Lords, Willow Books, London, 1989, p101. Written on white paper with the logo CCCC inside a shield with two crossed cricket bats behind the shield. Under this there is text; Thrissel Hours,/ Stapleton Road,/ Bristol.
