Brief Description
Black ink and blue pencil cartoon by Wells, featuring caricatures of Carlton FC players in 1948 entitled 'Saturdays "Kings" '. It has three panels- the top one shows people toasting a little cricket bat- shaped man, the second, a sad '1948 cricket season' bat 'evolving' into a '1948 Footy Season' football. The bottom panel shows a man with a long nose lighting his cigarette off another man's cigar. Black ink and blue pencil, in wooden and gilt frame with beige mountboard.
