Brief Description
Gold-plated, copper, commemorative medallion in a white plastic presentation case. The lid of the case features the Olympic Rings and gold-coloured lettering 'TOKYO 1964' below a red 'sun'. Attached to a scarlet fitted mount inside the presentation case is a medallion that depicts two athletes with an Olympic torch, below lettering 'XVIII OLYMPIAD'. A handwritten card that has become detached from the inside lid, reads 'Gold Medal/ Percy Wells Cerutty/ Tokyo Olympic Games/ 1964'. An circular adhesive label with a red 'sun' and Japanese script, is attached to the card. A further small paper document in both Japanese and English describes the medal, the design, the issuance, and the manufacturer.
