Light wood trophy comprising a miniature set of wickets, a cricket ball resting on a stand and a shield attached to a rectangular base. The shield features a metal emblem of a wreath, a set of wickets and two crossed cricket bats. An engraved metal plaque, also affixed to the base, reads, "GOLDEN PEANUT AWARD / FOR / AUSTRALIA'S CRICKETER OF THE YEAR / Presented to / IAN CHAPPELL / SOUTH AUSTRALIA / by / SIR RODEN CUTLER GOVERNOR OF N.S.W. / Sydney / April 29th 1969."
