Object Detail

Brief Description
Rectangular slab of grey concrete that was part of the Southern Stand constructed at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1936-37. The front face of the slab has been painted white and inscribed in black paint 'BAY/ 13'. The stand was demolished in 1990 to make way for the Great Southern Stand which was completed in 1992. This section of concrete was ceremoniously torn from the stand by former New Zealand fast bowler, Richard Hadlee, who was at the controls of an excavator in late 1990.
