Brief Description
Small decorative trophy consisting of a flat dark wooden base with a small silver "ATHENS/ 1896" plaque in the upper LH corner, and a larger "OLYMPIC WINNER/ I. MITROPOULOS/ GREECE" plaque underneath. To the right of these plaques is a small silver metal figurine of a moustached man leaning backwards, holding onto a gymnastics ring in each hand, with the ropes pointing in towards his head. A thin golden plaque with Greek script is on the back of the base.
