Brief Description
Olympic Relay Torch carried by Shirley Strickland during the 1996 Centenary of Olympic Games International Torch Relay. Smooth wooden handle tapering to a flat metal point, with the rest of the torch made of aluminium. Directly above the handle is a metal band bearing a set of gold Olympic Rings, with the names of the 23 Olympic host cities engraved, above this the rest of the torch, in a column design, flares outwards, culminating in a wide flat bowl with a raised burner.
