Brief Description
Black and white group portrait of the Xavier College cricket team, c. 1923. 10 boys are shown in three rows, 3 standing at the back with hands behind their backs, 3 seated on chairs with arms crossed, and 4 seated cross-legged on the ground at front, with arms crossed. They all wear cricket whites with dark school blazers. The group is posed in front of a large bush, with school buildings behind. A cross has been marked in blue biro on the third boy from the right in the back row, made by Beatrix Fleetwood Smith to identify her to-be-husband, Leslie O'Brien "Chuck" Fleetwood Smith. Also inscribed on the mount is "XAVIER CRICKET TEAM" on front, and "Beatrix Fleetwood Smith / Wife of Chuck" on the back. Brown card mount.
