Brief Description
Large black and white photograph of Shirley Strickland sitting in an armchair, knitting. She holds the needles up with a small piece of knitting on them, and looks at the camera. The lower LH corner has been altered, including black paint being used to take away some of the knitting, and the balls of wool being cut out and stuck onto the photo so it looks as though they are on her lap. A small clipping from a newspaper has been affixed to the reverse of the photo showing what the final printed photo looked like. "W Mail 26-5-60" has been handwritten in ink on the upper edge.
