Object Detail

Brief Description
Plastic hub cap with colourful oil painting by Pro Hart on front. Painting is of a cricket match in play in a clearing in the bush, with a batter and wicket-keeper at centre, inside of the circle with the Audi logo running horizontally. To the right is a figure running towards them to bowl, and to the left are a further two figures, seemingly watching the game. Four tall gum trees encircle the playing area, with lower bush in the background. The figures are painted sketchily, while the trees have been carefully rendered. The outer edge of the hubcap is painted blue. The artist's signature, 'PRO / HART' is prominent at the bottom right. On the reverse is written in black texta the number '885/97', next to a piece of card which has been affixed to the centre and partially filled in in blue biro, reading: 'FRAMERS / This painting record MUST NOT / be covered or removed / TITLE Painted Hub cap / RECORD NUMBER 886 (97) / MEDIUM oils / The priming and undercoats of this painting are / both acid free and not subject to mould. / Priming etc. carried out at Pro Hart Galleries Limited / Broken Hill / Authentification / (signature of the artist) / PRO HART, M.B.E., S.B.St.J.' Hubcap is a plastic replica with external clipping system, and 14 rectangular gaps around the rim.
