Brief Description
Circular, gilt metal Melbourne Cricket Club membership medallion, the obverse featuring blue, red and white enamel and gold lettering, and a small hole a the top for threading a chain or other hanging device through. A large white 'M' features at centre, at the top of which reads MELBOURNE, with CRICKET CLUB around the outer edge of the red circle border. Two C's appear between the 'legs' of the M on the blue central background, and the years 40-41 are beneath on a red strip. The number 1654 has been debossed on the reverse, above which is embossed NOT / TRANSFERRABLE / SEASON ENDS / AUG. 31ST / 1941, with the hallmark KG LUKE / MELB beneath.
