Brief Description
Circular piece of wood which forms the top part of a cricket ball display. There is a hole in the centre with accommodates a support pole. This pole has been removed. Attached to the circular piece of wood are seven used cricket balls. On the top there is a typed label that reads, "PRESENTED BY / MR. LOU. P. ROWAN / WHO OFFICIATED AS UMPIRE / IN THESE 29 MATCHES". There are two further circular pieces of wood with attached cricket balls. This ball display was made by Lou Rowan (Australian cricket umpire) who collected various cricket balls from matches that he officiated in from 1963 to 1972. The ball display dates from the c. 1970's.
