Brief Description
Presentation case, plastic, hinged and sprung, to house the gold medal won by Shirley Strickland at the XVIth Olympiad in Melbourne, 1956, for first place in the 4x 100 metres Relay. The case is cream- coloured, with rounded edges, and a raised circle on the lid. Inside of lid is cushioned silken material with the name of the manufacturer printed in gold, base is a stiff dark maroon felt bed with a depression, and ribbon for removal of the medal.
