Brief Description
Sterling silver gilt lined trophy that features one side handle and a lid that is hinged. The top of the trophy contains a small figurine of a cricketer in front of a set of stumps. The trophy features a decorative leaf design. The front of the trophy has two sets of inscriptions. The inscription just below the lid reads, "To I. Blankfield, Chairman P.R.B. / A souvenir of 5 great years 1966 - 1971, / _ _ _ From P. R. B. Sydney". On the main section of the trophy the inscription reads, "N.S.W. / WAREHOUSEMEN & MERCANTILE / CRICKET / CHALLENGE CUP / PRESENTED BY WILLIAM GARDINER, / OF W . GARDINER & CO. / London & Sydney, / 1882". On the reverse side of the trophy there is an image of a cricket match in progress. Underneath the base there are seven stamp marks.
