Cricket bat with sealed, spliced blade and twine-bound handle. On the reverse is a silver plaque, with the engraved inscription MT M.C.C. / HIGHEST/ BATTING SCORE / SEASON 1901. The maker's mark AQUILA CLAPSHAW & SALMON is imprinted on the front.
