Brief Description
Engraved and enamel painted brass-plate commemorative tray, presented to Australian, South Australian, and English County cricketer, Bruce Dooland. Around a field of floral patterns are arranged illustrations of four local Indian and British colonial buildings, three peacocks, the coat-of-arms of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (U.P.C.A), and, a profile bust engraving of the Patron-in-Chief of the U.P.C.A. Flanking these images are the engraved lists of the H.E.U.P. Governor's XI (at left), and the Commonwealth XI (at right). The main inscription crowning all other inscriptions and illustrations reads: 'H.E.U.P GOVERNOR'S XI VS COMMON WEALTH XI/Lucknow 28 - 29 - & 30th October 1950'. Dooland was a prominent member of the Commonwealth XI team. Maker's details on underside read: 'PRAKASHWARE/HOUSE/MORADABAD'.
