Brief Description
Small, rectangular, portrait-format card featuring on front a black and white head and shoulders portrait photograph of Australian Rules Football player Jack Titus. Titus is shown wearing a Richmond Football Club guernsey with the collar up, against a plain background. The picture is surrounded by a white border, at the bottom of which is inscribed his name, 'J. TITUS,/RICHMOND.' Reverse features grey text inside a decorative border, at the top of which is the card number 186, the series title: 'THIS IS ONE OF A SERIES OF/FOOTBALLERS', and below which is a short sporting biography of the player. W.D. & H.O. Wills advertisement at the bottom. This card is one of a series of 200 numbered cards issued in packets of W.D. & H.O. Wills cigarettes in 1933. The cards show black and white portraits of both past and current players of the time in both the Victorian League and Association.
