Brief Description
Black and white photograph of Shirley Strickland accepting the Helms World Trophy Award from the Lord Mayor of Perth, Mr. H.R. Howard, on June 1st, 1956. Typewritten label affixed to reverse is headed " 'The West Australian', SATURDAY, June 2, 1956./ Shirley Brings Yet Another Sport Honour to State". A purple W.A. NEWSPAPERS stamp is also on reverse. Photograph is presented with corners tucked into a piece of black card, with "=HELMS WORLD TROPHY=/ Presented By LORD MAYOR (MR. H.R. HOWARD.)" handwritten underneath in white ink.
