Brief Description
Black and white photograph of a group of seven young women standing in a line outside a train carriage, all except one wearing dark blazers with the West Australian Women's Amateur Athletics Association logo. Two have small rabbit mascots visible pinned to their blazers. Shirley Strickland and Verna Johnston hold a large wooden shield with 8 other metal shields on it. Handwritten ink inscription on reverse lists the women pictured, among them are Pam Bryant, Shirley Strickland, Verna Johnston, Val Laurence, and Gwen Bull ("manageress"). Written along the lower edge in black ink is "Doris Mulcahy Shield 1952 Melbourne January". A light purple stamp is also on the back.
