Brief Description
Silver-coloured medal awarded to Shirley Strickland for first place in the 80 metre hurdles, run in 11.2 seconds on 28 January, 1952, at the Australian Track and Field Championships. The medal features a central shield engraved with the event details, surrounded by the shields of Australia's six states linked by a laurel wreath. Inscribed at bottom is STOKES and STG SIL. On the reverse is the emblem of the Australian Womens Amateur Athletic Union, surrounded by their name.
